Property Companies Listed on the Botswana Stock Exchange




For some people, buying land and buildings seems like a far fetched reality. Some are just not comfortable with the idea of paying a mortgage loan for 20 years and some people just do not have the patience to recover their investment through rentals. Buying property is not exactly the most affordable investment and property costs are the main barrier to entry. Well then if this is the case, are we doomed for eternity if we fall under any of  the above mentioned categories? Well, not really. What if i told you you can become a property investor without actually building or purchasing a building? Below are property companies listed on the Botswana stock exchange:

The Far Property Company Ltd

Formed in June 2010, Far Property was established with a mandate to create a portfolio of properties for the Choppies Group. The company provides property development and management services. FPC has an impressive portfolio across southern Africa, including retail, commercial, industrial, and residential properties. The company is publicly listed on the BSE and was trading at P1.80 at the time of this writing.


Letlole La Rona Ltd 

Established by Botswana Development Corporation, Letlole La Rona is a Botswana property investment company listed on the BSE since 2011. Their portfolio comprises residential, commercial, industrial, and retail properties. The company manages and owns several well-known malls, including a 32.79% stake in JTTM, the company that owns the famous Rail Park Mall, acquired in 2022. Letlole La Rona was trading at P2.86 at the time of this writing.


New African Properties Ltd  

Primarily owning retail properties, New African Properties (NAP) is a property investment company that owns 67 properties across Botswana and a decent portfolio in Namibia, mostly retail properties. According to their website, 97% of the company’s portfolio consists of properties in Botswana, with the remaining 3% in Namibia. Among other properties, NAP’s most well-known holdings include Riverwalk Mall and Kagiso Shopping Mall. The company was trading at P3.88 at the time of this writing.


Turnstar Holdings Ltd 

Listed on the BSE since 2002, Turnstar Holdings is a major player in the property industry. The company’s portfolio stretches beyond Botswana’s borders to Tanzania and Dubai. The company specializes in multi-residential properties and shopping centers. Their most notable properties include Game City Shopping Mall, Nzano Shopping Center, and International Commerce Park in Botswana, as well as Mlimani City in Tanzania. The company’s portfolio also includes Mogoditshane Apartments and Tapologo Estate. Turnstar Holdings was trading at P1.93 at the time of this writing.


RDC Properties Ltd

As a multinational diversified property investment, management, and development company, RDC is active in seven countries, including Botswana, the USA, Zambia, Croatia, Madagascar, South Africa, and Mozambique. The company’s portfolio is impressive, including Chobe Marina Lodge, Masa Square, and Protea Hotel by Marriott in Botswana. According to their website, they have 41 properties in South Africa, 24 properties in Botswana, and a decent number of properties in other countries. The company was trading at P2.40 at the time of this writing.


PrimeTime Property Holdings Ltd

Perhaps the most visible in the Gaborone central business district through their branding, PrimeTime Holdings has a diversified portfolio of office, retail, and industrial properties throughout Botswana, Zambia, and South Africa. The company listed in 2007 and has since grown its impressive asset value. They own properties such as Lobatse Junction, Prime Plaza, Capricorn House, Sebele Center, and Nswazi Mall. The company was trading at P1.60 at the time of this writing.
